Why a desktop app for playlists
Playlist download sites promise a whole list and deliver a page of ads, a 720p cap and a zip that never arrives. A playlist is exactly the case where you want software running on your own machine: it can queue thirty or three hundred videos, retry the ones that fail, keep the titles, and not care whether the tab is still open.
Playlist or Mix? Both work
- Playlist — a list someone made on purpose, with a fixed number of videos. The link has
list=PL…. AppGrabbit downloads all of it. - Mix — the endless radio YouTube builds around one video. The link has
list=RD…. AppGrabbit takes the first 50, because a Mix has no end. - A video inside a playlist — if you paste a normal video link that happens to carry
&list=, the Download tab asks whether you want just that video or the whole list. One door for each intention.
How to download a YouTube playlist, step by step
- 1Install AppGrabbit for Windows — free installer, 106 MB, everything included. Windows will say it "protected your PC" because the installer is not code-signed: click More info and Run anyway.
- 2Copy the playlist link — open the playlist on YouTube and copy the address bar. Mix links (
list=RD) work too. - 3Paste it in the Playlist / Mix tab — AppGrabbit shows the title and the number of videos. With Pro you see every video listed with its title.
- 4Choose format and quality once — video with audio, video only or audio only (MP3), and the quality, for the whole list.
- 5Click Download — the videos go to the Queue, three at a time, each with its real progress. They land in your downloads folder with their titles, and the Library keeps them with their covers.

Good to know before you start
Private lists stay private
Watch Later and Liked videos need your login. AppGrabbit never asks for it, so those two are out. Public and unlisted playlists are fine.
One file per video, with its title
No numbering hacks, no zip. Each video is a normal file you can open, move or import into your editor.
Three at a time
Downloads run three in parallel by default; change it in Settings if your connection prefers one at a time.
Transcripts for the whole list
Need the text instead of the video? The Batch tab transcribes a playlist too, one .txt per video with your prompt on top.

The rest keep going. A private, removed or age-restricted video shows as failed in the Queue with the reason, and you can retry it later.
