WhatsApp Web and WhatsApp for Windows don't transcribe voice messages (that only exists in the phone app). Why not forward the audio to a bot
The most common advice for transcribing WhatsApp audio on a PC is to forward the voice note to a "transcriber" number or install an extension that sends it to a server. It works, but you are sending someone else's voice (a client, a boss, a relative) to a third party you don't know, and several cap at 60 seconds or charge per minute. A WhatsApp voice note is as private as the chat.
How AppGrabbit does it
The app accepts the file exactly as WhatsApp saves it (.opus or .ogg; also mp3, m4a, wav and the rest) and transcribes it with Whisper running on your PC: on your graphics card if you have an NVIDIA one, on the processor otherwise. What to know, honestly
Speech recognition is very good with one person speaking close to the microphone, which is exactly a voice note. It slips more with proper names, street noise or two people at once. The Fast model gets about 8 words in 100 wrong and the Accurate one about 5. The .txt says so at the top ("Transcribed on this PC") and the .srt takes you to the exact second if something looks off. The app doesn't tell speakers apart or summarize on its own: that's what the prompt you can put on top is for, to paste into your AI.

- 1Save the voice note — In WhatsApp Web or WhatsApp for Windows, open the message menu (the arrow) and choose Download. You get an .opus or .ogg file.
