YouTube without the algorithm
a list of your channels and what they upload, nothing else

Updated: October 2026 · 5 min read

0 recommendations only the channels you paste
Every 6 hours the app checks for new uploads
No account nothing to sign in to
Free Watch costs no credits; downloads do
Quick answer

Open Watch in AppGrabbit, paste a channel link (youtube.com/@channel) and tap Watch channel. From then on the app checks that channel every 6 hours and marks what's new. You get a list, not a feed: no autoplay, no Shorts shelf, no "recommended for you". Open the channel on YouTube when you want to watch, or download the video (1 credit on Free, unlimited on Pro). AppGrabbit's Watch section: a few channels, their latest uploads and a New badge on what came out since the last check

What "turning off the algorithm" can and can't mean

Inside YouTube you can get part of the way: pausing your watch history empties the Home page, and the Subscriptions tab already lists uploads in order. What YouTube won't do is stay out of the way: the Shorts shelf, the autoplay of a next video and the sidebar are still there, and everything needs an account. Watch is a list outside YouTube: it shows the uploads of the channels you added and nothing else, with no sign-in.

How Watch works

You paste channel links, one per channel. Every 6 hours the app asks each channel what it uploaded and marks the new videos with a New badge; the sidebar shows how many channels have something new. From the list you can open the channel on YouTube, download the video to your PC, or mark it as seen. Remove a channel whenever you like. There's no feed to scroll, no counter of hours watched, no suggestions.

What it is not

It isn't a player: videos are watched on YouTube or downloaded and played on your PC. It isn't instant: six hours between checks is the trade-off for not hammering YouTube, so it suits creators who post daily or weekly, not live events. And it doesn't touch your YouTube subscriptions: nothing syncs in either direction.

Good for

  • Creators you'd miss — the two or three channels whose uploads you actually want, without the hundred others
  • Studying — one lecture channel and nothing to get distracted by
  • Following an official source — a company, a school or an agency that posts on YouTube
  • Downloading on a schedule — see what's new, download what you'll watch offline, done

Step by step

  • 1
Open Watch — in the sidebar of AppGrabbit.
  • 2
Paste a channel link — the @handle form (youtube.com/@channel) is the easiest; copy it from the channel page.
  • 3
Watch channel — the app lists its latest uploads right away.
  • 4
Come back later — a New badge marks what came out since the last check, and the sidebar shows how many channels have something new.
  • 5
Open, download or mark as seen — open the channel on YouTube, download the video (1 credit on Free), or clear the badge.

Frequently asked questions

Does it work with @handles?

Yes. Paste the channel page link as it appears in the browser (youtube.com/@channel).

Does it notify me?

Inside the app: a New badge on the video and a count next to Watch in the sidebar. It's not a phone notification.

Can I watch the videos inside AppGrabbit?

No. Watch is a list: open the channel on YouTube, or download the video and play it on your PC.

Does Watch cost credits?

No. Following channels and checking for new uploads is free. Downloading a video costs 1 credit on Free (5 a month); Pro has no limit.

How many channels can I add?

Add the channels you follow; each one is checked every 6 hours. The list is yours, on your PC.

Does it replace my YouTube subscriptions?

No. It's separate and nothing syncs: your subscriptions stay as they are, and Watch only knows the channels you pasted.
