How credits work
5 a month on Free, 1 per job, 1 more every 48 hours when you hit 0. All of it explained.

On AppGrabbit Free you get 5 credits a month. Each downloaded video, each batch of up to 10 links, each transcript and each converted file costs 1 credit. Thumbnails, Watch, Library and updates cost nothing. When you hit 0 you can claim 1 credit every 48 hours, good for a day. On the 1st of each month you have 5 again. If you want more, the 7-day pass (USD 3.99, one-time) or Pro (USD 8.99 a month) remove credits: everything with no cap.
What costs 1 credit and what costs nothing
Costs 1 credit
- A video — in the quality you pick, with audio or audio only (MP3).
- A batch — up to 10 links pasted at once. Charged once per session, even if you cancel some.
- A transcript — of a video (with or without captions) or of a file of yours, however long.
- A converted file — MP4, MP3, WAV, ProRes, DNxHR, JPG, WebP… Converting is no longer Pro-only.
Costs nothing
- Thumbnails — the video cover at full size, no cap.
- Watch — following channels and seeing what's new every six hours.
- Library and queue — everything of yours, with covers.
- Updates — of the app and the download engine, and downloading the transcription engine.
Playlists and clips stay Pro, so they don't spend credits: they aren't in Free.
How it's charged and when it's refunded
The credit is charged when the job starts, not when it ends, so you know right away how many you have left. If the job ends badly, the credit comes back: download error, cancellation, or the app restarting halfway. You'll see the refund in License › Credits. The one exception is the batch: charged once per session and not refunded even if you cancel part of it, because several jobs already started.
Claiming 1 credit when you hit 0
When the counter reads 0, Claim 1 credit appears in the same place you were about to use it. You can claim one every 48 hours counted from the previous claim. The claimed one expires after 24 hours and is spent before the monthly ones. The counter shows it separately: "0 + 1 · expires in 5 h". The app tells you when a claim is ready and when one is about to expire.
The month
The 5 credits arrive on the 1st of each month (at midnight universal time, UTC) and don't roll over: if you used 2, on the 1st you don't have 8, you have 5. License › Credits shows "2 of 5 this month", the counter segments and every movement: granted, claimed, spent, refunded, expired.
Why credits and not a wall
Before 3.2, Free had separate caps: 5 downloads, 1 batch and 2 transcripts a month. If you hit one, you were stuck even with the others to spare, and almost nobody got past that point or tried the rest. Credits are a single balance you spend on whatever you need: you can put all 5 into transcripts or into downloads. And the claim every 48 hours is there so you never sit at zero for good if you use the app now and then.
No account, no email
Credits are tied to the installation on your PC. The app checks its server for the balance and the movements, the same way it does for the license, and nothing else: your videos, your files and your transcripts never go through it. If you reinstall Windows, the month's balance starts over with that installation.
If you need more
The 7-day pass (USD 3.99, one-time, no renewal) removes credits for a week: everything Pro, playlists and clips included, and it stacks if you already had days left. Pro (USD 8.99 a month, monthly only, no annual plan) removes them for good and is cancelled from the app. While either one lasts, the counter disappears.
What happens when you hit 0
- 1You hit 0 — The screen offers three ways out right there: the 7-day pass, claim 1 credit (if 48 hours have passed since the last claim) or Pro.
- 2You claim 1 credit — It shows up immediately in the counter as "0 + 1 · expires in 24 h". It is spent before the monthly ones and, if you don't use it within a day, it's gone.
- 3The month rolls over — On the 1st you have 5 credits again. The app's notices tell you when a claim is ready, when one is about to expire and when the month starts.
