Free preview and the SVG on your PC, with no subscription and without uploading the image.
Updated: November 2026 · 5 min read
Vectorizer.ai lets you upload and see the preview for free, but to download the SVG it requires a subscription of USD 9.99 a month. The alternative on your PC: AppGrabbit, in Enhance image with AI › To vector (SVG), with a free preview and 1 credit per SVG (5 free a month), without uploading the image. To be fair: Vectorizer.ai's tracing is often finer on hard images. Free preview · 1 credit per SVG

When each one makes sense
Vectorizer.ai is worth what it costs if you vectorize every week, work with hard images (lots of detail, complex edges) and want the finest trace without touching anything. AppGrabbit makes sense if you need an SVG now and then and don't want to pay a subscription for it, if the file belongs to a client and you'd rather it didn't leave your PC, or if you already use the app for everything else.
How to do it in AppGrabbit
- 1Install AppGrabbit. 163 MB, Windows 10 and 11, no account. Windows will say it protected your PC because the installer is not code-signed: More info › Run anyway.
- 2Open "Enhance image with AI" › To vector (SVG). Pick the image in "Your image" or drop it on the right.
- 3Choose what the image is. "Logo", "Line art" or "Illustration". If it's small, "Clean up with AI first" turns on by itself.
- 4Check the preview. Original and SVG side by side, free, with "Zoom in" for the details.
- 5Convert to SVG. "Convert to SVG · 1 credit". It lands in "Vectors", at the original's size.
If you vectorize often and need the best possible trace, Vectorizer.ai. If it's now and then, if you don't want to upload the image or if you already have AppGrabbit: free preview and 1 credit per SVG, with 5 free a month.
