AppGrabbit for content creators
captions, downloads, thumbnails and transcription on your PC; editing, in your editor
Updated: October 2026 · 6 min read
AppGrabbit covers what surrounds the video: the captions (word by word, on your PC, three styles, a safe zone in vertical), downloading your own public videos to reuse them, the thumbnail of any video, turning a podcast into a video for Instagram, and transcribing to get the post's text. What it doesn't do is edit: cuts, music, transitions and templates stay in CapCut, Premiere or DaVinci. Free: 5 credits a month; Pro: USD 8.99 a month with no cap. Free 5 credits · Pro no cap

A video's flow, and where each thing comes in
1) You record. 2) You edit in your editor: cuts, music, animated text, templates. 3) Captions in AppGrabbit: paste the finished video, out comes the word-by-word .srt and, if you want, the video with captions burned in, no watermark. 4) Thumbnail: the cover of a reference video, or yours to test it small. 5) You publish. 6) You reuse: download your own published video to post it on another platform, and transcribe it to write the post's text, the next script or the blog article. The order matters: captions go on the edited video, because any cut afterwards knocks them out of sync.
Captions the interface doesn't cover
In vertical, TikTok and Reels put buttons, the description and the music over the bottom of the video. AppGrabbit knows: in 9:16 the styles move up to stay out of that strip, and it shows you how they look on a real frame before doing anything. Three styles: Classic (two lines), Box (on a black background, for busy footage) and Center (three or four big words, the spoken one in yellow: the style of videos watched on mute). Getting the .srt costs 1 credit; burning captions into the video takes Pro or the 7-day pass.
"Edit Reels on PC": what we don't do
If that's what you were looking for, let's be clear: AppGrabbit doesn't edit. It doesn't cut, doesn't join clips, doesn't add music or transitions. For editing on a PC there's your editor (CapCut for desktop, Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, Clipchamp). AppGrabbit comes in before (downloading your own public material) and after (captions, thumbnail, transcription). Publishing the Reel from a PC happens on Instagram itself, in the browser.
A podcast on Instagram
An audio episode can't be posted on Instagram or TikTok: it has to be video. AppGrabbit turns the audio into a vertical or square video with the audio's waveform and captions of what's said, for a one-minute teaser or the whole episode. It needs speech (music alone won't do); trimming the excerpt happens beforehand, in your audio editor.
If you manage other people's accounts
For a community manager the math changes: the Batch tab downloads up to 10 public links for 1 credit (the client's material, competitor references), the Library keeps what you downloaded with its source, thumbnails are free for building a reference board, and transcribing a live stream or a long video gives you the text for the report or the content calendar. Two honest limits: public content only, the app never uses your account or the client's; and one license lives on one PC, so each person on the team needs their own.
What costs and what doesn't
- Captions (.srt, .vtt, .txt) — 1 credit per video; seeing them on the frame is free

- Downloading a public video — 1 credit; a batch of up to 10 links, 1 credit
- Transcribing — 1 credit per video or recording, whatever its length
- Thumbnails, Watch, Library — free, no limit
- Pro — no credit cap; monthly, no annual plan

No. Captions and transcription are done on your PC with a local AI engine; the video never leaves your computer.
YouTube accepts the .srt as closed captions. TikTok and Instagram don't take subtitle files: there you burn them into the video with "Make the video" (Pro or the pass).
